Felting technology – mechanical web bonding
This training provides a general overview of the mechanical bonding of nonwovens and a detailed insight into needlepunch. The focus here is on answering questions such as "How does mechanical bonding work?", "What tools are available?" and "What impact do the tools have on the nonwovens?". The subsequent practical section of the course deepens the theoretical knowledge.
Felting technology – mechanical web bonding
- You will receive an overview of the technologies of mechanical bonding.
- You will learn in detail the principles and functions of needlepunch and hydroentanglement.
- You will learn the basics of needle technology, including an overview of the needle portfolio and designations.
- You will learn about the tools used in hydroentanglement.
- You will have the opportunity to put into practice what you have learned in a demonstration in the Technical Center Nonwovens.
Based on our experience, this course is suitable for beginners or for specialists from the nonwovens field who are looking to refresh and expand their existing knowledge.
No previous knowledge is required for this basics course. We do, however, recommend combining it with the “Textile chain” and “Fiber theory” courses, as well as “Carding technology – mechanical web formation”.
The training consists of an interactive presentation with a wide range of examples from practice to illustrated material. During the practical portion, the importance of needle selection to reach the desired nonwoven result is demonstrated.
